Score — Accessibility Statement
Score is committed to making the Score platform and Score Assistant usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology. This statement describes our target conformance standard, what we have and have not verified, and how to report an accessibility problem.

1. Conformance target
We design and build Score to conform to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. This applies to the Score Assistant marketing and product pages, the teacher workspace, and the family area. It does not yet cover the legacy Blazor surfaces (the older parent portal and back-office tools), which are being retired rather than remediated.
Conformance means the content meets the specified success criteria. It does not mean every page has been independently tested — see §2.
2. How we check
- Automated scans: axe-core runs against our components in our test suite and against live pages in a real browser (color contrast and touch-target-size checks included), at both phone and desktop widths.
- Manual checks: keyboard-only navigation (focus order, visible focus, skip links, no keyboard traps) on pages as they're rebuilt.
- What this does not cover: we have not commissioned a third-party audit, and we have not done structured testing with screen-reader or other assistive-technology users. A detailed, criterion-by-criterion self-assessment (VPAT®) is available on request — see §4 — and is being re-issued against WCAG 2.2.
3. Known gaps
As of this statement, known gaps include:
- Some interactive controls rely on a border color that does not yet meet the non-text contrast criterion in every place it appears (being fixed as pages move to the new design system).
- AI-assisted output translated into a family's home language is not yet tagged with its language for assistive technology.
- Recorded video/audio content does not yet have captions or an audio-description track.
We track these as part of our ongoing redesign work rather than treating this statement as a one-time fix.
4. Reporting a problem
If you encounter an accessibility barrier using Score, or want a copy of our current VPAT, contact accessibility@schoolmusic.services. We'll acknowledge your report and do our best to address genuine barriers.
